EDES104: Assessment Task 1

Jennifer Elvery

Due Date: 6 September 2024

My name is Erin Magnay a third-year student studying a bachelor of education: early childhood and primary. To date I have completed two practical experience placements - one in kindergarten and the other in a year-four class. Whilst these placements were enriching experiences, I have discovered my passion for teaching younger children. This teaching journey has consolidated my understanding of learning from young children and finding innovative ways to teach them on their level to expand their understanding of the world around them. I look forward to continuing this development with my upcoming placement for babies and toddlers this semester.

As a preservice teacher undertaking reflective practice is an important and transformative way to further enhance one’s knowledge, through experiences and feedback from peers. The development of digital technologies has made it possible to connect with peers, and members of the wider community to share ideas, receive feedback and hear experiences through website blogs.  This website was created with such intent, to share my perspectives on two driving questions explored throughout the Digital Culture and Capabilities course content and to receive feedback from peers to enhance this understanding. Following the peer engagement process the initial critical reflections will be revised to adopt the feedback suggested enhancing the overall quality based on a developed understanding which can be found on the rewritten critical reflection tab in the navigation menu.
